Ulster County man charged with rape for having sex with underage girl

KINGSTON – The Ulster County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Port Ewen man on a number of charges including felony rape in the third degree for allegedly having sex with an underage girl.

Graham Hermance, 28, of 154 Broadway in Port Ewen was also charged with the misdemeanors of obstructing governmental administration, endangering the welfare of a child and criminal possession of a weapon.

Deputies responded to a report of a missing girl on Thursday in the Town of Esopus. They said that while trying to locate the girl, Hermance hindered the investigation by concealing her and assisting her in hiding from police.

In the course of the investigation, it was learned Hermance had sex with the girl. A seven inch dagger was also found at his residence.

Hermance is in the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash bail or $40,000 bond.
