Lalor wins Assembly race

BEACON – Marine Corps veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom Kieran Michael Lalor will be the new assemblyman in the 105th District in the Mid-Hudson Valley.

Lalor, a former school teacher and founder of Afghanistan and Iraq Veterans for Congress, said he realizes he will be fighting an uphill battle as a minority Republican in a sea of Democrats in the Assembly.

“Andrew Jackson said one man with courage makes a majority; I firmly believe that,” he said. “I think if you are willing to stand up and point out what is wrong, you can rally public support behind you and be quite influential even if you are in the minority,”

Lalor making his second try for elected office, defeated Democrat Paul Curran.
