| Yonkers police break up marijuana grow operation |

YONKERS – Three people are under arrest after Yonkers City Police late Tuesday afternoon raided a marijuana grow house at 367 Saw Mill River Road. Armed with a search warrant, police found 200 plants growing in individual pots. Large lighting equipment and fans were also discovered. In another room, detectives discovered an illegal alcohol still being used to produce alcohol for consumption. The alcohol was kept in several large drums. Three people in the building were taken into custody and charged with felony criminal of marijuana with additional charges pending on the illegal alcohol production and possible theft of utilities inside the building. Charged were Calvin Walker, 35, of the Bronx, Lawrence Machuca, 38, of that Saw Mill River Road address, and Maria Rios, 31, of the Bronx. The investigation is continuing.
