WEST POINT – Lt. Gen. William Boykin (Ret.), who has a track record of making derogatory remarks about Islam and Muslims, has withdraw from speaking at the West Point National Prayer Breakfast on February 8.

Last week, VoteVets.org wrote to US Military Academy Superintendent Lt. Gen. David Huntoon asking him to disinvite Boykin and on Monday evening West Point announced Boykin has withdrawn from speaking. In his place, West Point Chaplain Col. Michael Durham will address the assemblage.

VoteVets.org Chairman Jon Soltz, an Iraq war veteran, said the effort led by his group resulted in Boykin’s change of plans. Over 5,000 veterans sent emails to the Pentagon calling on Boykin’s invitation to be withdrawn.
