Two men arrested on drug charges by Kingston PD

KINGSTON – Two men, one a resident of Kerhonkson and the other from the City of Kingston, were arrested on Friday on drug charges by city police.

Street Crimes Unit police had been investigating the sales of heroin in the area of 17 East Chestnut Street.

Police on Friday arrested Kevin Hunter, Jr., 33, of 74 Minnewaska Trail in Kerhonkson in the area of Broadway and East Chester Street. He was found in possession of several glassine envelopes containing suspected heroin.

Further investigation led the detectives to 17 West Chestnut Street where they arrested Malik Acheampong, 39, of that address, for possessing some 170 glassine envelopes containing suspected heroin.

Hunter was charged with misdemeanor drug possession and loitering. Acheampong was charged with two counts of felony drug possession and violation of parole.
