|
HUDSON – A homeless man has been arrested and charged with setting a garage on fire in the City of Hudson early Friday morning. Fire and police personnel were called to a fully involved structure fire at the rear of 424 Warren Street in Prison Alley at 3:21 a.m. They saw Oswaldo Gonzalez, 23, formerly of Gallatin, in the burning garage. He allegedly began menacing the officers and refusing to leave. They entered the garage, disarmed him and had to physically remove him and place him under arrest. Detectives and patrol officers from the Cause and Origin Team are conducting the investigation and have charged Gonzalez with arson and other offenses for setting fire to the garage and causing damage to a vehicle, menacing officers with a large stick, obstructing the officers and firefighting operations and resisting arrest. Also assisting in the investigation are the Columbia County District Attorney’s Office and Hudson Fire Department. Gonzalez was arraigned on charges of third-degree arson, second-degree menacing, fourth-degree criminal mischief and obstructing government. He is in the Columbia County Jail with no bail. |
