Peekskill man charged with assaulting letter carrier

PEEKSKILL – An 18-year-old Peekskill man has been charged with assaulting a US Postal Service employee who was delivering mail.

The letter carrier sustained several injuries to his head and face including a laceration, bruising and a chipped tooth as a result of the attack.

Anthony Williams has been charged with misdemeanor third-degree assault as a result. Peekskill Police said the motive for the assault
remains unclear.

Police and US Postal inspectors are continuing their investigation.

The incident, on Dyckman Street, occurred on Tuesday, January 10 and was reported by police on January 17.
