UDC names Ramie acting executive director

Ramie

NARROWSBURG – The Upper Delaware Council has named Laurie Ramie as acting executive director to replace William Douglass, who retired after 22 years on January 1.  Ramie has been working for the UDC since 1997 as public relations/fundraising specialist. She will continue with those responsibilities while taking over the leadership role.

The Hortonville resident was unanimously appointed by the board, according to Chairman Representative Larry Richardson of the Town of Cochecton.

The Upper Delaware Council was established in 1988 to oversee the coordination and implementation of the River Management Plan for the Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreation River, which the US Congress designated as a unit of the National Park System in 1978.
