PBA chief urges Westchester lawmakers to protect their backs

WHITE PLAINS – The president of the Westchester County PBA asked the Public Safety and Security Committee of the Board of Legislators on Monday not to cut slots going forward.

Michael Hagan noted that over the last two years, the county police lost nine police lines and asked lawmakers to protect the ranks of the officers to preserve their safety as they serve county residents.

“What I am asking this committee is to use everything at your disposal to help keep police officers safe now and not wait until a tragedy occurs,” Hagan said. “Don’t make me come back after the tragedy and say,’ can we get some training, some money and equipment.”

Committee members assured Hagan they are behind preserving the safety of the ranks of the county police.
