Parole violator charged with drug sales in Ulster County

NAPANOCH – A Napanoch man, who is a parole violator, is in the Ulster County Jail without bail following an investigation into crack cocaine sales in the Town of Wawarsing.

The URGENT task force began an investigation after receiving information in late 2011 that Jermaine Brian Mangrum, 30, of 72-78 Clinton Street was selling the drug.

Police initiated an investigation and made several undercover crack cocaine purchases from him.

Mangrum was arrested while walking on Clinton Street on Friday.

A search of his apartment revealed crack cocaine and electronic scales.

He was charged with felony criminal sales and criminal possession of a controlled substance.  He also faces several state parole violations.
