Gallo to seek proposals for redevelopment of former Kingston parking garage site

The parking garage was demolished three years ago (file)

KINGSTON – Three companies have expressed interest in redeveloping the parking garage site in uptown Kingston.

Mayor Shayne Gallo wants to issue a request for proposals for the property.  The mayor said there are some ideas put forth already.

“One option was condo-townhouse mixed use with a restaurant, similar other concept that was proposed by developer, somewhat revisiting the Tischler project that wasn’t accepted for various reasons,” Gallo said. “What I intend to do is to issue a request for proposal for that site.”

The old parking garage was leveled a number of years ago when it was determined to be unsafe.
