Three charged with distributing marijuana from restaurant

NEWBURGH – The owner of Chelsea’s Jerk Center at 110 William Street in Newburgh and two employees have been charged with operating a marijuana sales operation from the restaurant.

City Police charged the owner, Lloyd Watson, 45, and his two workers, Jacky Ingram, 54, and Errol Drummond, 50, with felony criminal possession of marijuana in the third degree.

Police arrested the three after they served a search warrant at the business following complaints by neighbors that it was posing as a restaurant, but mainly supplying marijuana to the area.

Police found nine ounces of marijuana, some packaged for distribution, in the kitchen. Officers noted there was very little, if any, food preparation taking place.
