One dead in Mount Hope car crash

MOUNT HOPE – One man is dead and another injured following a one-vehicle crash on Route 211 west at the intersection of Orange County Route 61 in the Town of Mount Hope.

State Police said the 10 p.m. accident on Tuesday, January 31, killed Mark Yerkes, 54, of Cuddebackville, owner of the van. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another occupant in the van, Michael Mosher, 30, of Cuddebackville, was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center with injuries.

Police have not determined who was driving the van.  The State Police Troop F Collision Reconstruction Unit responded and is reconstructing the accident.  A cause of the crash has not been determined.
