GREENWOOD LAKE – A Greenwood Lake man, who is a member of the New York City Police Department Auxiliary and former owner of “Dan’s Cougars Children’s Sports Club” in New York City from 1972 to 1998, has been arrested in Orange County and charged with possession child pornography.

Daniel Sayer, 59, of Greenwood Lake, formerly of Blooming Grove, was charged with possessing a sexual performance by a child and possessing an obscene sexual performance by a child, both felonies.

On January 26, Town of Blooming Grove Police executed a search warrant in a recently vacated rental home, and secured images of boys under 16 engaged in sexual activity.

Town police determined that Sayer was the previous tenant in the rental home and contacted State Police.

On February 1, a search warrant was executed at Sayer’s new residence in Greenwood Lake and he was found in possession of several photos of obscene activity by children.  He was arraigned and remanded to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail or $42,000 bond.

The investigation is continuing.
