Road closed in Town of Newburgh

TOWN OF NEWBURGH – Lakeside Road will be closed except for local traffic between Route 52/South Plank Road and Gardnertown Road until further notice.  The action is necessary because of the failure of the deck support under a portion of the northbound lane due to scour under the footing, authorities said.

For local traffic, Lakeside Road will be restricted to one lane over the culvert near Ten Broeck Lane. Stop signs will be installed for each director to control traffic through the one lane section.

Town officials said motorists should plan on using alternate routes until Lakeside Road is restored to full service.

The town will be conducting additional inspections to identify correction measures.
