Bernardo briefs Governor about Ulster DEP issues

ALBANY – Ulster County Legislature Chairwoman Terry Bernardo got Governor Cuomo’s ear while in Albany on Wednesday and she briefed him on the New York City Department of Environmental Protection issues plaguing the county.

Bernardo was at the state capital for the New York State Association of Counties conference and after Cuomo addressed the local officials, she had a chat with him, telling him about the aqueduct leaks flooding Wawarsing homes and the turbid waters of the Lower Esopus.

She believes Cuomo will look into the situation.

“The governor is someone who gets what he wants,” Bernardo said. “This man has put forth a number of issues in his administration and he has accomplished his goals, and I know if Governor Cuomo puts his mind to it, he will be able to help the residents of Ulster County with this problem.”

Bernardo said Cuomo acknowledged her concerns at the conclusion of their talk.
