Three arrested when 45 lbs. of pot mailed to house

MIDDLETOWN – Three Middletown residents have been arrested on felony first-degree possession of marijuana charges after they received a package containing 45 pounds of the drug that was shipped to a Bedford Avenue address in Middletown on Monday.

Arrested were Anastacia Woolcock, Levaughn Mitchell, both 24, and Jerome Chambers, 29.

The marijuana, packaged for shipping in cardboard, was discovered by US Post Service postal inspectors who contacted the Drug Enforcement Agency and Middletown City Police.

Authorities went to the Bedford Avenue residence and found the pot. The suspects were taken into custody and charged.
