Two-car crash involved police vehicle

MONTEBELLO – Ramapo Town Police are investigating a two vehicle crash on North Airmont Road in the Village of Montebello Tuesday morning that involved a police car.

An officer was driving a marked patrol car east on North Airport Road at 10:20 a.m. when it was involved in a crash with an SUV driven by Zvi Swiatycki, 50, of Monsey.

Swiatycki did not complain of any injuries at the scene. The officer complained of pain and was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital by Ramapo Valley Ambulance where he was treated and released.

The accident is under investigation by the Ramapo Police Accident Investigation Unit.
