Poughkeepsie cops take another gun off the street

POUGHKEEPSIE – A routine traffic check led to Poughkeepsie City Police arresting a local man on a gun possession charge.

Police stopped the vehicle at the intersection of Main Street and Columbus Drive at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Officers found a loaded semi-automatic handgun in the vehicle.

The occupants were brought to police headquarters for further investigation resulting in the arrest of Nathaniel Lyons, 22, of Poughkeepsie. He was charged with felony criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree.
