WHITE PLAINS – An Ozone Park woman pled guilty in Westchester County Court on Tuesday to three counts of aggravated vehicular homicide in connection with the death of a man, who was a passenger in a car she struck head-on while driving the wrong way on the New England Thruway in New Rochelle. She had been driving for at least 6.4 miles in the wrong direction.

Tanisha Gomez, 26, was driving drunk at 4:31 a.m. on July 24, 2011 when she drove northbound in the southbound lanes and struck another vehicle. The front seat passenger of the other car, Reginald Lee, was injured and later died.

Gomez had a blood alcohol content of .19, more than twice the legal limit of .08 percent.

She also pled guilty to manslaughter in the second degree, vehicular assault in the first degree, aggravated DWI, DWI and reckless driving.

When sentenced in April, she faces 8 1/3 to 25 years in state prison.
