| Greenburgh may sell property for private development |

TOWN OF GREENBURGH – Town officials in Greenburgh are considering selling the town-owned Frank’s Nursery property to the Fame On 365 LLC company for it to build The Westchester Field House. The project, which was approved in a November public referendum, i9s tied up in court over the issue of whether the town has a legal right to lease the property. Town Supervisor Paul Feiner said if the town sells the land to the developer, it would eliminate the grounds for the existing lawsuit while allowing the project to go forward. “The sale would also fulfill the town board’s fiduciary duty to ensure that environmental conditions are properly remediated at no cost to the taxpayers, as these conditions will become the new owner’s responsibility once the sale is finalized,” he said. Feiner said the sale would also be subject to all required legal environmental approvals, including those from the state Department of Environmental Conservation.
