Golden Hill buyer may be interested in Kingston Hospital

KINGSTON – Dr. Anthony Bacchi, the local doctor who along with a group of partners, is buying the Ulster county-owned Golden Hill nursing home, may be interested in purchasing Kingston Hospital when the HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley merges its facilities and services into its other Kingston healthcare center, Benedictine Hospital.

Mayor Shayne Gallo said Bacchi had expressed some interest in Kingston Hospital and that will be reviewed.

“He is going to revisit the conversation we have had over the past few months with regard to the development that The Kingston Hospital campus site for either medical or dental college,” the mayor said.

Gallo said there is interest from a number of developers as well regarding the redevelopment and repurposing of The Kingston Hospital.
