I-84 shut down by flipped over tractor-trailer truck

CHELSEA – Interstate 85 in the Chelsea Fire District on the Town of Fishkill is closed following a tractor-trailer rollover.

The incident occurred at 5:40 a.m. Saturday when the tandem truck, pulling two trailers, flipped over blocking both eastbound lanes. The driver was not injured.

A fire department spokesman said the roadway will likely be closed for hours as the contents of the trailers are off-loaded. Traffic is being rerouted to local roads.

Assisting at the scene were Rombout Fire Department, Beacon Volunteer Ambulance Corps and State Police.
