Pattern Regionalism awards announced

NEWBURGH – Hudson Valley Pattern for Progress will honor nine winners of regional awards in six categories in November.

  • The Excelsior Award, which honors an individual or organization whose regional leadership inspires others to serve, will be presented to Rob Dyson of the Dyson Foundation.
  • The Regional Achievement Award will be presented to Todd Diorio and the Hudson Valley Building Construction and Trades Council for its role in stimulating some of the regionally significant projects.
  • The Economic Development Award will be presented to Kirchhoff Consigli Construction Management for development success in education, healthcare and residential projects.
  • The Improvement of Urban Areas Award will be presented to The Kaplan Center and the Newburgh Campus of Orange County Community College, bringing new life and opportunities to Newburgh.
  • The Conservation/Land Use Award will be presented to Hudson Baylor for its regional recycling leadership.
  • The Tourism Award will be presented to Mohonk Mountain House for development of sustainable tourism.
  • The Healthcare Award will be presented to Crystal Run Healthcare for continuing to expand high quality healthcare options for area residents.
  • The Regional Fellows Award, the first one ever, will be presented to Andrea Reynolds, president of the Community Foundation of Dutchess, Ulster and Putnam Counties, and a 2008 Fellows graduate.
  • The Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to former Pattern Board members Richard Struck, economic development director of Orange and Rockland Utilities.

The awards will be presented at Pattern’s annual reception on November 3.
