Man stabbed while house sitting was retired DC cop

WARWICK – The Waldorf, Maryland man who was stabbed while house sitting in the Village of Warwick last weekend was a retired District of Columbia police officer, Warwick Police said Thursday.

Leland Schadt, 62, is in stable condition at Westchester Medical Center and is assisting police with details and aiding in the identification of a male suspect.

Warwick Police said they are working on several credible leads from witnesses and are awaiting DNA results from the crime scene.
