Beacon Institute continues research

Cronin (file): "... expanding
our capabilities ..."

BEACON – The Beacon Institute for Rivers and Estuaries is engaged in research up and down the Hudson River and its estuaries on a daily basis. Its headquarters offices are on Main Street in Beacon and its research center on the Hudson is on Denning’s Point in that city.

Its sole facility on the river at that location is its Center for Environmental Education and Innovation, but plans are being developed for a second facility, said Institute Executive Director John Cronin.

“Our next development at Denning’s Point will be expanding our capabilities to do research and development on sensor and real time monitoring technologies as well as even more advanced training programs,” he said.

The Beacon Institute also has partnerships with colleges and other research facilities as it continually monitors the Hudson River.
