Local GOP committees back Molinaro

POUGHKEEPSIE – Several local Republican committees have lined up to endorse State Assemblyman Marc Molinaro (R-Red Hook) for Dutchess County executive.

Molinaro has said he is running for the county’s top job in the wake of County Executive William Steinhaus’ announcement that he will retire at the end of the year.

Molinaro has been endorsed by the Rhinebeck, East Fishkill and Red Hook town GOP committees and the City of Poughkeepsie Republican Committee.

Molinaro, a former Tivoli village mayor, also served on the Dutchess County Legislature before being elected to the Albany post.

No Democrat has stepped forward to announce a run for county executive.
