| Two teens charged with robbery for stealing a cigarette |

POUGHKEEPSIE – Two 17-year-olds have been charged with second-degree robbery for stealing a cigarette from a victim in Poughkeepsie. Two persons left a store at Cannon and Academy streets around 9:20 p.m. Thursday, March 24; one was holding a cigarette. When they were approached by four men, one told the victim with the cigarette to give it to him. When he refused, both victims were attacked by the suspects who punched and kicked them to the ground. During the attack, one of the suspects took the cigarette from the victim. The four suspects were found by police on Main Street and after a brief foot pursuit, two were apprehended. They were charged with robbery. The other two suspects are described as being black, between the ages of 17 and 22, wearing dark clothing and white baseball caps.
