New political party submits petitions for New Paltz village elections

NEW PALTZ – The One Community Party submitted petitions for the Village of New Paltz election, which will be held on May 3.  The party submitted 247 signatures to the village clerk on Friday.  Only 100 were needed.

Peter Healey will be running for mayor on the ticket and Sally Rhoads and Martin Sherow will seek four year village trustee terms.  Stewart Glenn will seek a two year term on the village board.

Team members said creation of the party is directly related to the ongoing study of unification options for New Paltz.
