Driver killed when car hits pole

MONTEBELLO – A Suffern man was killed in a one car crash on Viola Road near Route 202 in the Village of Montebello when he lost control of the car, ran onto an embankment, struck a utility pole, rolled over and came to rest on its wheels.

Ramapo Town Police identified the victim as Andrew Statham. Two other men, front seat passenger Troy Saucier, 20, and rear seat passenger Javier Human, 20, both of Suffern, suffered minor injuries.

Statham was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

The crash remains under investigation.
