ORMC Foundation exceeds its new hospital fundraising goal

Hospital President Scott Batulis

MIDDLETOWN – Officials of Orange Regional Medical Center Wednesday announced the hospital’s Foundation has reached its $21 million Capital Campaign goal for construction of the new hospital in the Town of Wallkill.

Officials gathered at the Horton Campus in Middletown to mark the milestone in the $250 million hospital project.

Hospital President Scott Batulis said it is very important to have community involvement in funding the new facility.

“We raised all the money we needed for construction for completion of the project so that has been accomplished,” he said. “Obviously there are further things we can do with more money and we are continuing to raise money for other needs,” he said. The construction will be completed in April with an August move in.

Among the major Foundation contributors were $2 million from the physicians, $1 million from the Rowley family for whom the Rowley Birthing Center is named, and $947,000 from hospital employees.
