Prostitution arrests in Newburgh

NEWBURGH - City of Newburgh Police Department Narcotics Unit along with New York State Police and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office conducted a joint investigation into prostitution and “John” complaints throughout the city.

Two Newburgh residents were charged with prostitution 3rd degree a Class B misdemeanor; Denise Concepcion,40, and Alexis Scanlon, 23.

Charged with patronizing a prostitute in the 4th degree, a Class A misdemeanor, were: Douglas Bradby, 29 of Fishkill, James Smith, 41 of Montgomery, Jorge Garcia, 33 and Pablo Cuevas, 37 both Newburgh.  The aforementioned persons were all booked and held pending arraignment in City of Newburgh Court.

During the course of Prostitution Sweep an undercover officer was approached by a man who said he didn’t have money but that would supply drugs instead. Daryl Newkirk, 41, of Newburgh, was charged with two counts of misdemeanor drug possession. Newkirk was booked and remanded to The Orange County Jail on a Parole Violation.

This joint operation is an effort to enforce some of the ongoing quality of life issues in the City of Newburgh.
