Kirwan up by a dozen votes

GOSHEN – Republican Thomas Kirwan of Newburgh is ahead of Assemblyman Frank Skartados of Milton as the 100th Assembly District race still remains unresolved.

Both sides met at the Orange County Board of Elections in Goshen Thursday and agreed that Kirwan is ahead by 15 votes and that the judge has ruled on every ballot except three.

Once the judge decided what to do with those three, the election will be certified.

The Skartados camp has pledged to appeal the decision as soon as the judge rules on the remaining three ballots.

The district includes portions of Ulster, Dutchess and Orange counties.
