Monroe woman struck while walking in Monsey

MONSEY – A Monroe woman suffered a head injury when she was struck by a vehicle as she walked in the area of Route 306 and Calvert Drive in Monsey at 7:48 p.m. Sunday, police said.

Ramapo Police said the 62-year-old woman was struck by a minivan driven by a 29-year-old Brooklyn man as she was crossing Route 306. No one in the van was injured.

The woman was transported to Westchester Medical Center by Hatzolah Ambulance.

The accident is under investigation by the Ramapo Police Accident Investigation Unit. On charged were filed as of late Sunday night.
