Pawling Village Green project gets financial boost from state
PAWLING – The Village of Pawling received
a financial shot in the arm from the state’s Economic Development
Assistance Program with $250,000 for its Pawling Green and Veterans’
Memorial Park.
Mayor Robert Lifflard said the project serves a dual purpose.
“I look at is as beautification and I also look at it as economic
that government, meaning the state and the local municipality, doing their
party to help jobs, spark interest in people opening businesses here in
the Village of Pawling,” he said.
The money will be applied to a $2.4 million fund raised by the community
for village economic development. The state funds were delivered by Senator
Gregory Ball, who secured them from Albany.
