Molinaro wins Dutchess Conservative backing

POUGHKEEPSIE – Dutchess County executive candidate Assemblyman Marc Molinaro has won the endorsement of the county Conservative Committee in his bid for the county’s top job.

The conservative Republican has held true to the principles of the Conservative Party, said County Chairwoman Patricia Killian.

“Marcus has always been true to this part of our philosophy, not to mention his energy, the fact that he has grown up through the ranks – mayor, then county legislator and assemblyperson – he knows what he is doing,” she said. “This was not a kneejerk decision on his part.”

Molinaro started his political career as mayor of the Village of Tivoli, and then was elected as a Dutchess County legislator before running and becoming a state assemblyman.

He faces a Democratic challenge for county executive from Beekman Town Supervisor Daniel French.
