Mom makes Facebook entry before she runs van into river

NEWBURGH – A half hour before LaShanda Armstrong drove her van with her four kids into the Hudson River at Newburgh Tuesday night, she made a Facebook entry via her Blackberry:

“I’m sorry everyone forgive me please for what I’m gonna do… This is it!!!”

Actual Facebook entry obtained by MidHudsonNews.com

Armstrong, 25, and three of her small children drowned while her oldest son was able to open a window, climb out and swim to safety.

Armstrong’s Facebook page is private, meaning only her “friends” have access to it. MidHudsonNews.com obtained access.

As the word spread about her death and that of her children, Facebook friends made countless entries. Many wrote “RIP” (rest in peace).

One young woman wrote: “You will always be like my older sister. I will miss you soo much.”

Another wrote, “Praying for your family and love ones… You will be missed.”

One woman wrote on Wednesday that, “I’m sorry I didn’t message you in time… you’re all in my thoughts and prayers.”

Another friend, a man, wrote: “I can’t explain how I feel right now or the thoughts going thru my head… we all are asking why? That’s an answer we may never find out. I would give almost anything jus to b by urside 5 minutes b4 it all happened nd been there wen u need sum1 most love u.”
