Two arrested in Poughkeepsie in drug bust

POUGHKEEPSIE – City Police in Poughkeepsie culminated a several month investigation into narcotics sales at 49 Gifford Avenue, second floor in Poughkeepsie, arrested two people and confiscated drugs and cash.

Lashana Cummings, 21, and Leon Scott, 40, both of the address, were charged with felony drug possession. 

Police recovered over 600 individual bags of suspected heroin, $16,000 in cash, scales and other materials used for the distribution of narcotics. Three vehicles and other electronics were seized as a result of the investigation.

The no-knock narcotics search warrant was executed on Monday, March 10, but police didn’t release the information until this Monday.
