Doll company moves to uptown Kingston

Tonner Doll's future headquarters on Wall Street

KINGSTON – The Tonner Doll Company will move its corporate headquarters to 301 Wall Street in uptown Kingston.  It has spent the last 10 years in leased space n Hurley.

Company owner Robert Tonner bought the Wall Street building earlier this month. “For years, I’ve been looking for a special building that has architectural integrity and also has the space requirements we need,” he said. The building, which has been vacant for about a year, previously housed a Chase Bank branch.

Tonner hopes to move in by May 1 after renovations have been complete.

The new headquarters will house the design, production, sales, marketing, finance and administrative staff, a total of 17 people.

The company, which opened in 1991, designs and manufacturers collectible fashion dolls, child character dolls and licensed character figures such as Harry Potter and Wonder Woman.

In 2007, Tonner bought 12-14 Hurley Avenue in Kingston and opened the Tonner Company Store, which will remain at its current location.
