| Saugerties man sentenced for returning to US after deportation |
|
ALBANY – A Saugerties man, who was deported from the United States twice, was sentenced Thursday in federal court in Albany for reentering the country for a third time. Jeinor Leonel Cordova Garcia, also known as Alberto David, 28, was sentenced based on his guilty plea to six months in prison and one year of supervised release. Garcia, a citizen of Honduras, was removed and deported from the United States to Honduras on October 26, 2002 and again on October 21m 2004. On November 9, 2009, he was encountered by a Department of Homeland Security and Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer at the Ulster County Jail. The matter was investigated by the Department of Homeland Security, Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Fishkill and Saugerties Village Police. |
