NEW PALTZ – Police have arrested a New Paltz man and charged him with failing to register an address change as a sex offender, a felony. Michael Healy, 28, of 9C Southside Terrace Apartments in New Paltz, who is a level two register sex offender, is listed as homeless on the state sex offender registry, but was determined that he was living in the apartment complex for about six weeks, New Paltz Police said. New York law requires any registered sex offender to notify the state registry of a change of address no more than 10 days after moving. Healy was arraigned and remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail or $10,000 bond to reappear in town court at a later date. |
