DioGuardi announces U.S. Senate run

DioGuardi

NEW YORK – Former Westchester Congressman Joseph DioGuardi Tuesday made it official, he is running for the Republican, Conservative and Independence Party nominations for US Senate.

He hopes to challenge incumbent Democrat Kirsten Gillibrand in November.

The Ossining resident, who is a fiscal conservative, supports two Constitutional changes:

“We need a balanced budget amendment and we need term limits,” he said. DioGuardi said this election is for only two years and if elected, he would then run for a full six year term.

Since Gillibrand was appointed to replace Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, she must run this fall to complete the remainder of Clinton’s former term.

DioGuardi made his announcement at New York’s Grand Central Station.
