WAPPINGER – State Police have arrested a Wappinger man and charged him will illegal acquisition of a 9 mm carbine rifle.

State Police executed a search warrant Saturday morning on Stony Kill Road in Wappingers Falls and arrested Devon Nevers, 20, on charges of criminal purchase of a weapon and falsifying business records in the second degree.

Police said Nevers had provided false information on the ATF and background forms when he purchased the firearm.

During the search warrant check, the rifle was recovered and he was charged.

Nevers was arraigned and released to appear in court on a later date.
