| Ball introduces legislation to keep Montrose a VA hospital |
|
OSSINING – Assemblyman Gregory Ball (R-Patterson) and Assemblywoman Sandy Galef (D-Ossining) stood side by side Friday at American Legion Post 506 in Ossining and called on the federal government to keep the Montrose VA hospital open to serve veterans. The feds have plans to privatize portions for housing development. Ball organized the latest event, which bought out vets from the area. He is gaining bi-partisan support for his state resolution. “This cannot be political in any way,” he said. “We’ve got to make sure we move forward for the veterans and don’t allow this to become a political football.” The state resolution would establish limitations against private development of Montrose for any other purpose than for veterans. |
