Newburgh PD investigates shooting; victim won't cooperate

NEWBURGH – Police in the City of Newburgh are getting no cooperation from a man who was shot twice in the right thigh Tuesday afternoon.

The man wouldn’t give the police any information as to how he got to St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital Emergency Room and told them he was unwilling to pursue any charges.

His wounds were not life threatening, according to police.

Right after the 4 p.m. report of shots fire in the Fullerton Avenue and First Street area, officers flooded the neighborhood, but were unable to locate any suspects.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Detective Division of Newburgh City Police at 845-569-7509. All calls will be kept confidential.
