on over there"

MIDDLETOWN – Retired Middletown physician Dr. Hrusikesh Parida was 70 years old when founded the International Medical Relief Foundation in Orange County in 2003 and since then has sent millions of dollars worth of donated medical equipment and supplies to all corners of the world.

Most recently, supplies were sent to earthquake ravaged Haiti, but before then, hospital equipment to Kenya, medical and surgical supplies to Nigeria, Uganda, Vietnam, Russia, Ukraine, Peru and the Dominican Republic.

People in the United States don’t know how well they have it in terms of medical care, said Dr. Parida.

“I have a feeling for those people and we are so well off here, many people have no idea what goes on over there,” he told MidHudsonNews.com.

Dr. Parida, who left his native India in 1968, moved to England, where he practiced before he came to the United States in 1978.
