NEW WINDSOR - Congressman John Hall spent Monday talking up the newly adopted Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and how it will impact mortgages, credit cards, student loans and other financial products.

In Poughkeepsie, he met at Hudson River Housing and in New Windsor, he discussed the business end of the new law with the owners of Mama Theresa’s Deli.

“The idea is that prosperity should be for all Americans and not just those at the top,” he said.

The new law will give access to information that will help consumers make good decisions, said Hudson River Housing’s director of homeownership and education Mary Ling.
