Couple launches community performance space at rebuilt train station

Railroad Playhouse

NEWBURGH – The restored West Shore Railroad Station at 27 South Water Street in Newburgh is now the home of the non-profit Railroad Playhouse, Inc.

The husband and wife team of Jennifer and Seth Soloway of Cornwall has rented the building from developer Ray Yannone and this fall plans to launch it as an arts space, said Jennifer Soloway.

“We have been centering our program ideas around bringing high quality art to Newburgh, but still doing in-school residencies and providing programming for kids and families and trying to put together a summer arts camp for next summer and just really being a community resource in as many ways as possible,” she said.

Jennifer Soloway’s background is technical theater and arts management. Seth Soloway is an artistic director off-Broadway and will bring in the talent for the programs.
