Accident brings traffic to virtual standstill on Mid-Hudson Bridge

HIGHLAND – A tractor-trailer truck heading westbound between the Mid-Hudson Bridge and the toll plazas overturned around 2:45 p.m. Monday causing major traffic delays in the bridge.

As of 8 p.m. Monday, eastbound traffic was flowing smoothly and all lanes are open.

Westbound trafffic was still slow with traffic backed up into the City of Poughkeepsie. One lane was now open westbound and authorities expected to open the second lane at about 8:30 p.m. after clearing all debris and emergency vehicles.
