Internet dating “player” pleads guilty to grand larceny

WHITE PLAINS – A man, who sought out established professional women on Internet dating sites and then led them to believe a pack of lies so they would give him money, Wednesday pled guilty in Westchester County Court to grand larceny in the third degree, a felony.

When sentenced in October, Solomon Jesus Nasser, 58, of Ardsley faces 2 1/3 to seven years in state prison for getting over $191,000 from his female victims.

Over a three year period, Nasser met the women on Match.com and Plentyoffish.com and misrepresented himself as holding a high level Department of Defense position; was an advisor to and in frequent communication with President George W. Bush; had been an admiral in the Navy; worked for the CIA; commanded forces in Iraq; graduated with a PhD from MIT when he was 22; and was a multi-millionaire who owned a jet; among other things.

He would then tell the women he was currently in a dire financial state and that he and his ex-wife were in a child support battle.  He would persuade the women to “loan” him money. One victim gave him cash and credit card purchases totaling over $114,600. During the court of his scheme, he took financial advantage of three women.

Nasser also failed to pay state taxes with interest and penalties totaling $17,400.
